Young people are building their sailing piragua! Join in with our scholarships
Shipwright CarpentryThe dream sets sail: a sailing piragua made real. The Shipwright Carpentry School is not just a workshop — it is Fundación Cubagua's flagship project to rescue and preserve traditional boat-building and the ancestral trades of our region.
After two consecutive years of effort, learning and unforgettable experiences, our 14 young shipwrights are entering the final stage of building a sailing piragua. To the sound of the hammer, alongside their teacher and lead mentor, this team shows that the country's future is built by working. A source of pride for our maritime identity.
Enrolment is open. Want to learn a unique trade with a future? Applications are now open to join our Shipwright Carpentry School — and we have 10 scholarships available for committed young people who want to learn this art. Secure your place and build your own path.
